One of the best features of the new Deskcycle 2 is the ability to adjust the height to suit you. When using the DeskCycle 2, you can set the maximum pedal height to either 23 or 26 cm — depending on what works for you. This is in addition to other customisation features such as the bike’s easy to use wide resistance range, adjustable Velcro straps and a wide base that eliminates side-to-side rocking.

The DeskCycle-2 will work at a desk as short as 69cm. People over 1.75m will generally require a taller desk.

Ultra-smooth pedal motion

The High-Inertia flywheel keeps the pedals moving at a smooth pace. Smooth pedal motion makes pedaling the DeskCycle an unconscious activity so that you can focus your attention on your work. In contrast, the other bikes tend to have jerky pedal motion at any usable resistance setting. Jerky pedal motion can be bad for your joints and can distract you from your work. Smooth pedal motion is a must for physical therapy.

Magnetic Resistance
Most pedal exercisers use friction resistance which causes jerky pedal motion, especially when you turn the resistance up. In contrast, the touch-free magnetic resistance in the DeskCycle is smooth at all resistance settings.

Wide resistance range

Many pedal exercisers don’t have enough resistance to raise your heart rate. The DeskCycle has more than enough. At the lowest resistance setting the DeskCycle pedals freely. At the maximum setting, there is between 2 and 10 times the pedal resistance of the other bikes. The DeskCycle has 8 resistance settings.

Ages 5 to 100
Anyone can use the DeskCycle at the lower resistance levels at a leisurely pace of 15 mph.
As you use the DeskCycle your strength will increase and you will graduate to the higher levels.

Double Your Pedal Speed to Quadruple the Resistance
Pedaling faster, exponentially increases the resistance. Most people can’t pedal the DeskCycle at 30 mph for more than a few minutes at level 4. Your heart will quickly enter the high cardio zone and your legs will burn within a few minutes.

 
 

Wide solid base

The front leg is 20 inches wide. Because of their narrow bases and high center-of-gravity, the other bikes tend to rock back and forth or side-to-side when pedaled.

Not the DeskCycle. Its low center-of-gravity, and wide base keep it firmly on the ground when you pedal it.

 
 
 
 

Lowest profile under-desk exercise bike

The DeskCycle has a 10-inch maximum pedal height.

At the top of travel, the height of the DeskCycle pedal is only 10 inches. This is 5 inches shorter than the max pedal height of the MagneTrainer. The DeskCycle could be used at a 27 inch tall desk (measured between the floor and underneath side of the desk) by a person who is 5′ 8″ or shorter. At 5′ 8″ you will need to push the bike further away from you and extend your legs to prevent your knees from hitting the underneath side of the desk. You may also need to lower your chair. Taller people will need a taller desk.

The DeskCycle-2 has a 9-inch max pedal height!

The DeskCycle-2 pedal height is adjustable. You can set it to either 9 inches or 10 inches. This is the lowest pedal height available. A person up to 5’10” can use the DeskCycle-2 at a 27 inch desk or taller.

The DeskCycle comes standard with large pedals with wide adjustable Velcro straps. The larger area and flexible strap keeps your feet comfortable when using the bike for extended periods of time.

Wide adjustment range
Quickly adjust the strap to accomodate any foot size. The maximum loop curcumfrence is over 16 inches.

Double weighted always-up pedals
The Pedals are double-weighted to keep the pedals facing upward when not in use. This make it easy to insert your feet in the pedal straps.

The pedals use ball bearings for smooth motion and a long life.

 

Bidirectional pedal motion

You can pedal the DeskCycle pedal exerciser in the forward and reverse directions. The resistance is equally smooth and quiet in both directions. Pedaling in reverse works opposite muscle groups.

    I’m a RN and sit on the phone all day long and my BMI (Body Mass Index) is too high. Most people’s are that sit but with the desk cycle it’s easy. I love the versatility with it as you can adjust the tension and the ride is smooth. It has a feel of a more expensive bike.

    Love this machine. I mulled over this purchase and read through TONS of reviews before purchasing. It definitely lives up to its good reviews. I was worried about it being too noisy because I work in a cubicle type setting but they don’t even know when I’m peddling. It was very simple to put together so I’m confused by the reviews that said otherwise. It came with the one tool that you need. Its very smooth to peddle and I am 5’6″ with a 27 inch clearance under my desk and my knees don’t hit. I did pay the $10 more for the Deskcycle 2 because it is one inch lower (the only real difference between the two) and I’m glad I did. I have a my desk up against a wall so the machine doesn’t go anywhere when I peddle but I do have to use the strap that came with it so that my chair (on wheels) doesn’t move backwards. I love that I can put the electronic display/tracker on my desk so I can see my progress and it doesn’t reset the distance/time/calories until I do it manually so it keeps track all day without losing data. The tension control is a nice feature as well. I am pre-diabetic so along with calorie burning I’m happy to have the increased circulation all day too. Overall, after all my research into the competitors, this one is the lowest (has the best chance of fitting under your desk) and best option and I’m glad I purchased it.

    I am a website developer and 3D artist so I live a very sedentary lifestyle. I am always around a computer as I have to deal with pretty rigid deadlines. Therefor, there really isn’t time to hit the gym. I did buy a treadmill with a incline a while back, but things got too busy so I couldn’t use it any more. It was a bummer too as I lost about 12 pounds on it in about three months.

    However, I decided to buy this little machine about 5 weeks ago. And I am not disappointed. It is VERY quite. Not a single annoying squeak. And best of all, I went from 160 lb to 153 lb..in just 5 weeks. My diet has not changed much (outside of limiting my take out and increasing my protein levels). I use this machine about 2-3 hours Monday-Friday, and 4-5 hours Saturday-Sunday. I don’t even need to use the higher tension settings. I use tension 2 and 3 with 2 being used for the first hour and 3 being used for the second to third hour.

    I am quite happy with this and surprised that I have lost weight in such a short time frame. It has also helped strengthen my legs as well, which is always a plus. 🙂

    I would highly recommend this desk bike!

    Been looking for this product now for a while. I had originally gotten this cheap exercise bike and of course the seat hurt SO MUCH that I began only using the pedals, going backwards, sitting on a chair. So that worked, until the pedals kept coming off. By a month of daily use and daily screwing the pedals back in, the threading was so bad I had to screw it in every five minutes. I thought, okay this might be a problem with all “at home” exercise equipment.

    BUT THEN, I found this awesome cycle. NO threading issues, no screwing anything in except for the very first time when I put it together. No sliding on the floor even when I’m using it. It just does what it’s supposed to do. The calorie counter and speedometer work great. The cycling is SUPER QUIET. The only issue I even have is maybe a tiny one – there’s a big difference between level 1 and level 2, it feels like quite a sharp increase for one little increment. But that’s literally it, my one and only tiny complaint. I would recommend this cycle to anyone.

    I’ve been using the DeskCycle 2 for nearly a month and I’ve done close to 1000 miles and dropped 15lbs. It’s easy to put together, quiet, consistent, easy to store, and wonderful to use. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

    I currently have mine tucked under the coffee table and I can just scoot it out of the storage area, support my back with an additional couch cushion, and get a decent bit of exercise while watching tv.

    I’ll admit it right now: I really didn’t expect much from this purchase; I half-expected to return it. I’m a fit and physically active person, but my job requires me to sit at a desk, so I’m not as active as I’d like to be. I thought, maybe a little mini-bike or a stepper or something like that would help me keep my legs moving, and improve blood circulation while I sit.

    As I hoped, my lower back and legs feel much less stiff from sitting at the end of the day, now that I have the little exercise bike under my desk. My goal isn’t to build strength/endurance with this, but mostly to offset the sedentary lifestyle during the work week, and for this, DeskCycle is absolutely perfect.

    If I tried to make actual exercise out of it, I couldn’t focus on my work, because this little machine actually provides some noticeable resistance at the max setting. Most days, I just have it set to 3 and pedal away as I work. It is quiet enough, that the fan and disk noise from my workstation drowns it out.

    After about a month of having my chair continually “shackled” to the DeskCycle with the included velcro strap, I found an adjustable strap with carabiner clips that is much quicker to use with the rolling chair. Now if I need to unhook my chair from the mini-bike, it only takes me a few seconds, but mostly I just leave the two linked together for days at a time.

    It’s built well enough that I think it will last me some years at current level of use. All in all, I am glad I bought it.

    This thing is amazing, have had it for a few weeks now and feel comfortable writing a review. Pros- This thing is nice and quiet, working and home and on office days its not distracting. Has enough weight it doesnt move around as I pedal, for that alone its worth the price. My coworkers are already talking about ordering their own! I agree with other users I burn up to 1,000 calories just puttering along at level one at work. I also reset the counter everyday to see how far I’ve gone, goes to sleep when you arent pedaling so you dont burn batteries.

    Also, I’m 5’9″ and mostly legs, and find that most modern desks I fit under just fine. The range of motion on ellipticalls is too small for me. I’ve had no problems figuring out how to get adjusted so Im not hitting the desk with the pedals or bumping me knees. I did switch to a standard four legged chair but mostly bc I could see a clumsy disaster if I tethered my rolling chair.

    This is the absolute best mix of quality/value/price if you dont care about Bluetooth connections.

    Cons? Picky things, if you use a regular four legged chair and get up, it can take a second to readjusted.

    I really dislike their online calorie calculator, it gives me 1/5 the calorie values of other counters. I’ve started to just use it to convert mileage and put it into the tracker I was using before.

    Consider your pants/chair combo. My jeans rubbing together and against the fabric of my chair made enough noise I took breaks on the bike. My own fault just something to consider.

    **UPDATE** After having this for almost a year I wanted to add an update. I have moved the Deskcycle between my work and home office, not always delicately and it has remained almost perfectly quiet to use. After about a year of passively pedaling to not break a sweat, I have gone from Level 1 to Level 5 and have noticed the positive change in my health. The negative effects of needing a sedentary desk job have been erased! **

    I really love this desk cycle. I have an office job and I don’t always get the chance to get up and walk around so this is a great option to still try try to get some movement for my legs. I also like the fact that it syncs with my fitbit although it does not count as steps but just activity. The cycle is very quiet and it is has plenty of resistance which I like as I progress using it. It did take a few minutes to put together but it is nothing that I had major issues with. Overall, this has been a great purchase and I could not be happier.

    I have been eyeing the Desk Cycle for a few years, but never took the plunge. I am SO glad I did! This machine is EXACTLY what I need, as a part-time teletherapist and home-office worker.

    Pros:
    – the detachable display is genius and makes working out more rewarding since you can see those numbers moving
    – it fits well under even my desk, which only has 24″ of clearance (*caveat- of course this won’t be true for everyone, but it works for me)
    – it is nearly silent- I am a speech-language pathologist and provide teletherapy services for some clients (basically therapy over a teleconferencing platform with video and audio), and clients have not been able to hear it even when I’ve asked. I have my chair adjusted well and they can’t even tell I’m moving.
    – easy to adjust
    – does not move on carpet (our carpet has a medium pile)

    Cons:
    – disconnecting and reconnecting the display can be a pain if you like to use it in multiple places

    You do have to experiment with the height of your desk and chair, and you will most likely need some sort of pillow/lumbar support to get your back adjusted correctly, but once you have the adjustments down, it is easy to use. I have been recommending this to everyone! How could you NOT want to burn calories while doing something you already do for 8+ hours a day?

    I originally purchased this for my spouse, who needed a low-to-no-impact method of warming up for physical therapy. We went with the DeskCycle2 because height is often an issue (we’re both short). The DeskCycle2 was so good that I wound up purchasing a second one to take to my office. I’m routinely burning 300+ calories per day at my desk and have to actually force myself to pedal slower because it’s so enjoyable to “ride” the DeskCycle2. I’m one of those people who sweats like mad during even the lightest forms of exercise, and I can definitely work up a major sweat using this…but if I pedal slowly on resistance level 3, my sweat level is manageable for the office. The extra stand that allows you to place the display on your desk is a very nice touch.

    ETA: This is also really great for managing my chronic fibromyalgia pain at work. My legs are especially susceptible to pain and swelling, especially if I either sit too much (and I have a desk job) or stand too much (I have a sit/stand desk). The DeskCycle is great for low-level leg activity and helps me manage my pain.

    This review is for the DeskCyle-2. I’ve been working on it for a while now. It’s been a great experience and a pleasure to use. The DeskCycle-2 makes for a great way to exercise while you work. The cycle is smooth and easy to use, the settings are easy to change and understand, and the display clearly shows helpful information such as RPM, distance and time cycled, and approximate number of calories burned. The company’s website has a more accurate calorie calculator that is helpful and easy to use. The product has an excellent design and very quiet operation. I had an issue that needed troubleshooting and the representative at the company, 3D Innovations, provided prompt and incredibly helpful service. I wish him and the company the very best, and highly recommend this product. I am glad I made this purchase, and hope that others are too.     Assembly took me less than 30 minutes + opening the box. I tried it immediately while watching “Joker” the new Joaquin’s movie in the living room.
    Yes, this DeskCycle is very quiet. I put the setting on 1 and started pedaling while sitting on our sofa. After watching TV, I was surprised to find out that I had been pedaling for 163 minutes/41 miles and burned 994 calories. This is amazing because I lost 4 lbs on New Year’s day while watching TV which I had trouble losing in one month. I was not skipping my meals. I will report in a month on my progress. Thank you.

    I used to have a treadmill desk but it would not fit in my new office. I have a hard time getting into deep work with my standing desk. After leaving work after sitting for ten to twelve hours and losing my fitness, I got the DeskCycle 2. I love this! It is very quiet and I am able to track my miles and calories every day online without Bluetooth. I ultimately switched out my chair with wheels for a stationary chair and that works great. This may not be a substitute for a workout but I feel like my legs get energized and strengthened from a day of resistance 4 out of 8 for a few hours, which does not interfere with my ability to work while I pedal.
